Jean Pascal - Lucian Bute, fight discussion thread and picks

Pascal looks in great shape, but what was with the black tape over his mouth at the weigh in?

Not sure about the tape. Maybe that he'll do his talking in the ring. Maybe he's been censored by the promoters? Roy Jones Jr. will be working pascals corner for this one, if that means anything.

I hope it means Roy is considering retiring from the ring. I would be inspired if he was in my corner. Has Roy ever done that for any other fighter.

I started a thread after the Froch fight. The title was is Bute damage goods? We're going to find out tonight. He's damn sure good enough but is he tough enough? That is what cost him his fight with Froch. Froch is hard as nails. Bute couldn't overcome that. I see Pascal jumping on Bute early. To find out just how tough he is. If Bute can keep his cool a counter Pascal is dead. If Bute is damage goods then he's fighting the wrong man.

I keep flip flopping. I hate it when two faves fight. Bute looks like his quiet confident self again. Butes best punch has always been the outside uppercut catching people coming in and Pascal has always been susceptible for an uppercut. I still think Pascal but I'm not as sure as I was. Pascal looks ripped.
I have not been this excited about an all Canuck showdown since Hilton/Ouellet or Hart/Furlano 3.

Pascal and earlier than Froch did it.

Froch showed that if your brave enough to march forward and theow, you will land because Bute doesnt really have the skill or brains to mive away rather than sit on the ropes.

Pascal seems to have a pretty good chin and will walk in looking sloppy because he is and because of Butes southpaw stance but as soon as Pascal starts letting his punches go, Bute will go in to a shell and then its a matter of time.
