I consider Floyd an ATG, n depending on the day n what I focus on I consider him the best of his generation. There is no denying Floyd's skills or accomplishments, as he has undoubtedly the best combination of talent, skill, ring intelligence, n work ethic. Guys like Roy n PAC r equally gifted but not as skilled, guys like Hop have equal skills n work ethic, but aren't as naturally gifted.
In my opinion Floyd is nowhere near the top ten or twenty ATGs like his fanboys say. Nor is he the overrated cherry picker his haters say he is. Floyd has some great wins against tough opposition, some wins against big names past their prime, n some missed fights against guys who could've helped cement his legacy.
Chico n Hatton along with maybe Castillo in the rematch were Fliyds most impressive wins to me. Baldomir, Oscar, Genaro Hernandez, n Canelo were slightly lower in stature. Jesus Chavez, Famoso Hernandez, Zab Judah, Gatti, Angel Manfredy, n Robert Guerrero were all tough, worthy challengers n good wins. Mosely was old when they finally fought, Victor Ortiz is not impressive, Henry Bruselles shouldn't have shared a ring with Floyd, Corley is inconsistent, n Miguel Cotto was well past his best days like Misely when Floyd finally fought him.
I don't think Floyd ducked anyone, but he never fought Casameyor, Frietas, Paul Williams, Manny, Prime Cotto or Mosely, Kostya Tszyu, Stevie Johnston. Now, I'm not saying he was scared, or that any of those guys should be favored to beat him, BUT, he should have proven his superiority to them in the ring. I also think a few of those guys had a good chance of pulling out the upset.
