I think RAP would be in a better place than it is now talent-wise with Tupac and Biggie alive, but they lived the lifestyle and well that doesn't allow for long careers.
I respect this statement but I wouldn't go as far as to call him a hypocrite, I just think he was an emotional rapper and this is what made him great in my opinion. He rapped according to his mood at the time which is what I think hip hop is missing. Everything is the same bullsh*t rims and bling and women. Tupac rapped about these things as well but he rapped about so many various topic that other rappers won't touch on today.
If you think you can......you can, if you think you can't .......you're right!

I do like the mixtapes that are put out by few of todays rappers...

I didnt think much of Nipsey Hussle until I heard his mixtape. He has that old school west coast feel , I never knew he could rap like that.

I'm not into rap but I did come across a book that contained Tupacs lyrics. He really did write some interesting stuff. I think his writings put rap in a light I hadn't seen. I don't go out of my way to get his music but when I do hear his tunes I pay attention.

What was that movie he was in with Tim Roth. They played a couple junkies looking to get into rehab. It's the only movie of his I have seen but he played a great part in that film.
