He made no adjustments in four fights with Marquez. Had very little advice in the corner. Many trainers today are mere opportunists. I mean seriously, Garcia training Donaire by phone at this level? What next a phone app?
Agbeko looked like an opponent against Rigo. Roger offered nothing to stem the tide. Telling ones supremely gifted nephew to "just keep doing what you are doing" does not a great trainer make.
I'm not saying there are no good trainers but I think many are extremely overrated.
Nail on the head. I personally think Roach is very overrated...i don't care if he worked under Hutch.
