The US owns the Pacific. We took out Japan which had NEVER been done before. Japan can still whip Russia and China.... if the US decides to unleash them.
Also I don't know if it's come up before but Obama sucks

china will maul anybody. YOu can wiupe out 300 million, 400 million even half a billion of them and they can still swarm over alll of america and europe combined.l,. They are numberless.
You have a point there. Oddly, China just recently started putting Aircraft carriers in the water. They are definitely ramping up their military but I don't know if they can yet be classified as a global superpower. I think they are a regional power with global implications. This will not always be the case.

China definitely is a superpower.
If there ever was a non-nuclear war, they'd be unbeatable because of their manufacturing capability.
It was the American manufacturing capability that won World War II. The Soviets were losing to the Germans until the Americans sent them massive amounts of weapons. The Japanese got off to a good start in 1941-42, but eventually they were overwhelmed by the enormous number of American battleships, tanks, planes, etc produced by the US economy.
Man for man, the Japanese were actually braver and better troops than the Americans. Over 95% of the Japanese soldiers fought to the death, refusing to surrender in situations where they were badly outnumbered and out-gunned, like in the Battles of Saipan, Iwo Jima, and Peleliu.
In April to June 1945, even though the Japanese had practically no navy left, their determination caused the greatest American losses of the war in the Battle of Okinawa (over 82,000 US casualties on land and sea, 768 U.S. planes, at least 225 tanks, and 368 Allied ships, primarily from kamikaze attacks).
They have one aircraft carrier. It's hard to be a superpower with one aircraft carrier.

as for China's economy they have a bubble ready to burst which is their population their "baby boomers" as it were are older then hours and the younger generations don't have enough manpower to look after those people whether it is in a financial situation or a health care situation it just can't happen the numbers don't add up

The Chinese had those islands or rather claimed them in the 13th and 14th century. Japan took control of them in the late 1800's and China was in no position to do anything about it. Japan gave it up at the end of ww2 but in China's mind it was not Japans to give up since it was stolen from them. The U.S.A. gave control back in the seventies to Japan. China has historic claim and its none of the Wests business.
China is not one to talk, they use the, it was ours at one time, line quite a bit. Tibet was its own country, now it is not. China is now requiring permits for reincarnation so they can choose the next Dali Lama. The US was once Engands. Florida was Spain's. Things change. China is now taking Afghanistan, they are doing it smartly. China is on the hunt around the world for resources and is acting like a kid in a candy store.

The U.S playing landlord..who woulda thunk it. Wonder if China turning the tide for North Korea might have influenced a wests involvment for Japan.

That is right, things do change. That is what this is. Change and like I said its nobody's business but those directly involved. Let them have at it if need be. Like the Falklands. If the West wants to start interfering then lets go to Korea. I mean we did say "never again" Or how about the yearly slaughters and starvation all over Africa? If those two countries want to blow each other up let them. This planet could use about 4 billion less people so that's a start. We can call it wildlife management.
