Hearn says Khan could get $5 million if he agrees to Kell Brook fight | Boxing

Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn has been interested for some time now to try and get Amir Khan (28-3, 19 KO’s) to accept a fight against his fighter unbeaten welterweight contender Kell Brook (31-0, 21 KO’s) for a big fight that he’d stage in the UK, likely in a stadium. It’s a fight that would generate a lot of interest in the British boxing public, and it would give Brook and Khan a chance at getting a huge payday. Hearn says that Khan would get $5 million if he were to say yes to a fight against the unbeaten Brook.

$5 million is probably not worth it for Khan, because if Hearn’s fighter IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch stands to make $14 million for his rematch against George Groves, then Khan is worth close to that, even though he’s not as accomplished as Froch, Khan is arguably more popular than him. But Froch would make that huge payday by taking the lion’s share of the purse in getting 85% of it, while the challenge Groves would get only 15%. But Hearn likely would be looking for either a 50-50 or something close to that. He would figure that his fighter Brook would deserve close to parity with Khan despite Brook not being as popular as him with the British public.

Khan should run right at Brook for that kind of cash. And with all due respect to Froch, 14 million? Really?
"It could" hold a lot of weight these days. Then the numbers from an it could statement are regurgitated as fact. I say Froch could make up to 112.62 million. Feel free to use my figure wherever you choose. I can say with absolute certainty he could make that much.
