Do you choose your boxing style??

Im a new boxer, training in Toronto...studying boxing and boxing history at the same time...just curious you hear about the different boxing styles, swarmer, boxer, slugger..Do you choose which style you become? Does your trainer choose? Does it just happen naturally? Can you consciously choose, focus and train to become a certain style because you find it appealing?

If im a george foreman frame, can I train to fight like Tyson? Also I hear swarmers tend to have shorter careers than the proper boxers, is this true?

You can pick whatever style you want, but that doesn't mean you'll be good with it.

If you have long arms, use distance, if you have short arms maybe get inside.

If you're quick and have a solid chin, go to war.

Unfortunately your natural abilities with probably pick your style for you. But everyone is different.
