The guy that trains you will have a lot of influence on your style, at least early on. You don't know anything or how (or what) to think about things, so you'll absorb his thoughts and ideas and your style will express them.
If you pursue the activity long enough, as you gain experience you will develope your own way of thinking and your style will change. I think that your thought process and your mentality play at least as big a role in the style you end up using as does your physicality.
If you take Patterson, for example, he fought out of the peek-a-boo style until Johannsson dropped a right hand on him. So he turned himself more sideways to see the right hand coming and changed his style

Tyson wasn't a bully... Tyson was a tiger. Bullies use their body and their weight to push people around... Tyson wasn't a bully in that sense, he just hit you and hit you often and HARD!

People always try to find ways to diminish Tyson's ability- reduce him to a cheater, a mere bully/thug, or anything that took away from his great boxing skill and technique- and, more importantly, his boxing intellect and his power AND speed.

Tyson was more than a bully...

Woah there, I'm not saying Tyson wasn't skilled, I'm not saying that at all! Tyson was extremely talented hand speed, power in both hands, ability to cut off the ring, footwork, head movement...he had all the tools a champion needs and then some.

When I say, "Tyson was a bully" that is the manner in which he imposed his skill set on another fighter. Don't give them space, don't give them room, stay on top of them, be rough on the inside, and don't back down. He would physically impose himself on his opponent...he would bully them around the ring. George Foreman did the same thing as did Sonny Liston.
