Default Floyd Mayweather vs Paul Willams

Its no secret that Williams was one of the most avoided fighter during he's prime. I think he's reach power and being a volume puncher would have given Floyd problems big time. He had stated before that he'd go down to 147 to fight either Floyd or Manny I believe he would have given both or them problems. Thoughts?

A 147lb southpaw with that kind of reach and punch output is going to be a nightmare for anyone. He wasn't the fastest guy ever though, and I think PBF and Manny would have outboxed him.

yet another fighter gayweather avoided like the plague. im so sick of this chickenshit hand picking douchebag pretender. he is no real champion. real champions fight the best and biggest challenges.

Before Martinez I would have said tossup with Floyd or Manny. After Martinez I would have been leaning toward Floyd or Manny.
Too bad about Williams, he was very good and had a great attitude, I can't remember him saying much about anyone.

Williams didn't know how to utilize his height. He fought like a small man and with him throwing so many punches, I think floyd would have had a counter punching field day with him.

Floyd beats him without much problems.

Paul Williams is one fighter I truly miss in the ring. He come to fight every night. If his name in the picture right now, he could and would give any and everyone a problem. At 147, I would pick him to beat anyone and give him a 40% chance against Floyd. At 154, there would be some great fights for Paul.

I never really rated him that highly. He beat a well past it Wright and got gift decisions over Lara and Martinez. He also struggled with Ishida. To suggest he'd cause Floyd problems at 147 seeks a bit ludicrous

the difference between Williams and Corrales is that Pauls chin is made of iron now China. And yeah more towards the end of he's career he seemed to struggle in he's fights but you have to remember that was after the vicious Martinez KO. I think he would have given both Manny and Floyd problems. He did give Martinez he's hardest fight in recent years. I also think he would have beat Canelo.

Same here.. I never thought he was all that nor did I find him all that exciting.

He also beat Margarito when everyone thought Margarito was a killer.

He didn't struggle with Ishida at all.

Agree about the Lara and Martinez fights.

I pray for Williams to one day walk again. He was a good fighter even tho I was never a fan.

He'd trouble Floyd but wouldn't beat him.

By struggled I mean didn't look good. He won the fight easy but never has Ishida in trouble and pretty much just out punched him

Floyd easy. 9-3 rounds imo. Williams would lose but still give a better performance than Guerrero and Canelo

Unfortunately, we'll never know. Floyd missed out on fighting Williams, when he was the most feared fighter, and Margarito and Cotto in their primes too. We can speculate on the result, but there's no way to know.

Agreed it never happened for that same reason he will not fight Lara, higher weight and too awkward.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
