The way you've titled this thread is all wrong. You're a Nonito fan but you're asking can he EVEN beat Donaire? Donaire is a superb fighter and losing to him when you've had 2 pro fights would be no shame. Also he lost a close fight to Salido, Salido was overweight and throwing in the low blows like they were going out of fashion and he nearly finished him in the last round. Not bad for your second fight. I'd pick Loma in a rematch. He has much to learn about the tricks of the pro game and I wouldn't be going in with Donaire, I'd dial it back a level for a few fights. Arum is selling him down the river with this quick trip to stardom. The old fucker just wants some quick bank at loma's expense.

The whole thing is a farce.

    No he wouldn't beat Nonito.

I don't mean to be vague but I personally believe Loma is overrated (as proven by Salido) and needs to take his training pants off slowly before he hops into any more ridiculous world title fights.

i think that donaire beats him but they are completely different styles. salido is an obvious tough style for somebody who has only fought amateur fights because that style would never fly in amateurs. like i said in another thread, he should take 2 or 3 more fights this year against good opponents and then see where he is at and can fight for a title next year if he is ready.

Believe you're wrong about Arum, Loma as champ would be a huge pot of gold. Arum could feed him opponent after opponent for as long as possible between serious threats.
Just my opinion, but I think Arum believes in Loma.

I haven't thought highly of Donaire in a few fights. Somewhere he lost some of his pizazz. I think Loma looked great in spots against Salido but he also needs some fine-tuning to the professional game. In his second professional fight he went toe-to-toe with Salido. There's no embarrassment in that. They should have him fight a few more veterans and pick up more of the pro game. He needs to learn an inside game and how to react to low blows. He also needs a better corner. He should move to a good professional trainer at least partially. Frankly, I thought Salido was coming on in the Garcia fight when they stopped it, not too long ago.

The Loma experiment failed... I don't want this to end up like the Michael Bentt story. Too soon, too soon....

Salido was good, but if Loma was what they said he was- beating Salido would have been an easy UD.

Sure, we can say he was robbed. Sure, Salido cheated a bit and the ref allowed it. But it wasn't even supposed to be that close to give it a point or two difference.

It was a glorified sparring match.... let it ride.

Lomachenko is decent for a second fight fighter, but he is a complete idiot for doing what he did. Does he now fight journeymen or get another shot at a top fighter? He is spoiled already and deserved what he got. He needs to work at the art, a few rounds with headgear is not how you learn to go 12 at the top. Night and day.

Well , I had Salido up by 2 points. But he should've easily lost 1 or 2 points for low blows which could equal a draw. Loma is a "young" pro fighter and he will improve. He is good but I just don't see him being great. A fight or two from now , Loma beats Salido but I don't see him beating Nonito or Mikey Garcia

i wouldnt at all call him decent for a second fight fighter. he is great for only having 2 fights, but he just isnt elite yet.
