RJJ used to be Winky's promoter. Could have an interesting story leading up to the fight. Overall I think it would be a good fight. Winky doesn't have one punch ko power so it would be competetive.

If this would happen,it'd a mismatch,Roy is way too fast and a way bigger puncher.Even though Jones is past his prime IMO Roy would knock him out within the first 6 rounds

agreed. he got KO'd twice, left for awhile, came back, didn't even try to win and was thoroughly dominated by antonio tarver, and then left again for awhile. if it ended there, no one would be talking about him dominating a top 2 p4p fighter with his speed, power and technique in his next fight.

so... is this speculation based on his (non-KO) win over the unheralded Prince Badi? Come on....

A prime RJJ was beautiful to watch, but it's been years since those days. I would root for the guy in any fight still, but I'd root much harder for permanent retirement. He's been a HOF shoe-in for almost a decade already.

It's a weird match. Does anyone know what weight they'll fight at? I'd imagine Roy will be around the lightheavy mark nowadays and Winky bulked-up could maybe be a credible supermiddle.

I think with the natural weight advantage I'd have to go for Roy by KO. I thought winky to be far too clever to even think about fighting an over-the-hill Roy Jones. The pay-day would be the only logical reason for it happening.

winky wright and roy jones are two of the best fighters of our generation and they will be remembered in the future like the past greats are today!!

back to topic im not sure about the fight.... one roy is asking for alot to fight these days...
two winky certainly has great boxing skills and an awkward southpaw defensive style that can take the very best out of theyr game...
either... winky wins a complete ud
(even though winky fought well against jt! wasnt as defensive or as good as he could be, alot more open and toe to toe)
if he fights like he did last fight i'd say a close ud or sd for roy,
i mean roy is a legend but hes drained and shot since he lost all the wieght and muscle after ruiz, but i think his skill and speed alone might jus win him his last few fights so he can retire on some good wins!!
lol now im talking like the fight is actually going to happen....
also depends what weight the fight is at, because winky doesnt have ko power... but roy certainly wont be any greater at middle super middle or whathavyer. lol

I think Jones right now would have a hard time with WInky because he was getting hit jabs these last two fights more often than ever before, and WInky is alot faster than either man Jones fought... He keeps throwing the jab I don't see Jones getting alot of breathing room to do his stuff.

i dont honestly think roy will get any big fights soon though to be honest.. he is taking the p1ss a wee bit
and asking for alot to fight against fighters that should probably get more at this stage of his career..
