He's a journeyman, now. Jorge Gonzales pt 2 but without the weak chin and loud mouth.
The thing with Cuban Amateur stars, when they get to the USA apparently, is that they can't handle the "freedom". Either that or the culture shock is too much for them and they are taken advantage of by the "western capitalist system"- meaning that they don't have any idea on what it takes to be a true champion, in and out of the ring. They don't appreciate the dirty in the game to be gritty enough to rise above it all AND the distractions.
What many have done, aside from a few exceptions, Rigondeaux being one of them (if the only one, but Perez is showing me a few things) is that when they get to the USA they become distracted- by the women, freedom, fast food, partying, late nights, etc... they don't want to train, they want to live life. A life they don't get in Cuba.
So, while Cuban amateur stars have oodles of talent, Solis is no exception as his talent is clear and obvious, they don't have what it takes to stay focused because of the cultural differences between a lazy Caribbean island like Cuba vs. a fast paced, free society like the USA- WITH MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!!!
