Answer me this guys; and I'm not criticizing your viewpoint, just stating my feelings. True, this is close to boxing, but isn't the gameplay slow as hell to you? Yeah, it's like real boxing to me if it were a tough man competition (speedwise). Just playing my favorite character (Joe Frazier), he does indeed have that "feel" to him. There's a sense of urgency to get in the inside. But when I'm there, his punches are so slow. I can't even do a left hook body, left hook head combo. Hell, he's so slow he can't do a one-two. I'm not looking to do Ali-style flurries (which Ali, Leonard, Robinson, Jones, and De La Hoya all can still do very well), but it seems the only combos I can do consistently are a [predictable] left hook right hook.

Everything else about the game I feel is perfect; the addition of the styles, actual useful signature punches, etc. But I was disappointed yesterday because basic combos are now so slow. Also, the haymaker and other special punches I find TOTALLy useless. I never complained about them in round 2; I just went defensive until my opponent wasted some stamina and then countered. Now, those moves are way too slow. Everything's way too slow unless your the above-mentioned characters or a lightweight. I mean, I don't expect Jeff Lacy to bust a Ray Leonard Flurry, but a basic double jab cross, or double left hook (body then head) or something. The power hitter's punches are so easy to see that it's a miracle to get one that isn't parried. Just because your a power hitter or a pressure fighter doesn't mean that you're reaching back for "an arrow" every time you punch.

Or am I judging the game too soon? I've only had it for one day. I like it, but this drastic change in speed and the inabillity to throw basic combos with guys that aren't Jones Jr are really bugging me. I don't know. It's realistic, but just too slow for me(broken record...I'm sorry).
