He would have dominated all of them.
It's easy to look at Roy Jones over the last 10 years while he was washed up and getting his brains rattled and say "oh yeah, a big puncher like Moorer or Foster would have his number, they'd put his lights out." Child, please. Go back and watch vintage Roy and watch vintage Foster and Moorer, and you tell me they'd land on Roy.
Roy's defense was insane. His footwork was crazy, he kept guys at range like a pro, and even on the inside guys could hardly crack his Winky Wright-style defensive shell.
And not only that, his offensive was a great part of his defense because he had serious power.
How on earth do you see Jones dominating Spinks i think he barely wins a decision or Spinks knocks him the fuck out pretty much. Spinks had the reach power and chin and also through punchs in every fucking direction and was a very awkward style to fight against period.
Laugh @ Bob Foster competing with Roy Jones, seriously haha..
Qawi and Roy dont belong in the same stratosphere..
Moorer was somewhat lazy, wasn't the most motivated in the gym, inconsistent, and his mental toughness was questionable.. There is no way that a guy like that is going to beat Jones.
Jones was good but not great at light heavy Foster, Ezzard Charles and Spinks would beat him but maybe he could be Archie Moore.
It would be an interesting fight with Moorer but I think Jones could beat him in a classic match.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
How was Jones not great at 175? He went 7 or 8 years as the LHW champ and fought pretty much every worthy challenger outside of Dariusz "I only fight in Germany" Michalczewski (who went on to have his first loss to a guy Roy Jones DOMINATED).
Pea was way better. The guy cleaned out lightweight. Completely cleaned it out (getting ripped off by Ramirez in the process). He beat a prime Azuma Nelson as part of that dominant run. Again, completely cleaned it out, not one perceived challenger. He then went up to 140 and shut out Rafael Pineda over 12 rounds to pick up a title in the hopes of unifying with Chavez. When Chavez refused he then went up and took on P4P ranked McGirt, picking up the title and enticing Chavez, the #1 P4P to come up and face him. He beat Chavez but was ripped off and handed a draw. Since McGirt said he wasn't 100% Pea have him a rematch and thoroughly dominated him. Pea continued to dominate at 147, despite being small for the weight and battling addiction. He moved up to 154 and defeated the tough Julio Ceasar Vasquez, who was the #2 guy behind Norris. Pea went back down to 147 and continue to decline until he lost a disputed decision to Oscar, who was much larger, younger, in his prime, and ranked P4P at the time. He fought much tougher competition, actively chased the toughest opponents, and cleaned out two divisions he fought in.
Yea but the guys Jones fought were not even close to Spinks and also Spinks never lost to anyone at Lhw Jones was having some serious problems with Montel. Spinks was a one of kind fighter himself as well don't think Jones had much to trouble him because even with speed he had less reach and height. Not to mention Spinks hit like a truck and pretty good timing as well to go with it. Dm lost to the guy jones beat when he was 35 years old almost 36 is Taver better then Jones because he knocked him the fuck out at 36 years of age come on now. Spinks beat everyone in his divsion and when he moved up he didn't fight a belt warmer he beat the Lineal champion for the heavyweight crown which says something Since that was not done in over 77 years guy was champion in both and lineal one at that as well.
Also Dm was the man to unify and be the champ because he did beat Hill before Jones. Dm beat a lot good challengers Lhw and only lost when he hit like 35 or 36 like Jones did so i do not see why that should be a reason that Roy never fought the guy. Do not like how Jones gets a pass when should of fought the best he was a phenom but come on he missed out on a lot of fights and think some of the blame should be on him for not all of it but should hurt his legacy a tad like anyone else.
