Kovalev should be grateful that a fight against B-Hop does not look likely. No-one has an easy night against Hopkins. I don't think I ever even seen Hopkins hurt, never mind knocked down (Yeah I know he has been knocked down), or badly beaten.
Hopkins has history of schooling these big punching killers (Trindad, Pavlik, Pascal)
Kovalev has never faced anyone, anywhere near having the boxing brain, boxing smart, ring intelligence of Hopkins.
I don't care how old Hopkins is.
If the fight does happen I can imagine Kovalev coming into the ring way over confident "Yeah I'm just walking down this old man and KO him"
Happen. Not. Gonna
Is Kovalev good enough to get a decision over B-Hop ? I think not. So he's most likely gonna have to do what no other fighter has done and that's either stop or KO Hopkins
Hopkins is 49, and surely, surely time has to catch up with him one day, he can't just carry on smacking down these younger cats. I actually think Adonis Stevenson is a fight that Hopkins would struggle, as Stevenson has the mobility and athleticism and power to cause Hopkins problems
Funny how boxing changes. Stevenson is 36 himself, back in the day, he would have be seen as an old timer, but that's boxing nowadays Klistchko is pushing 40, Mayweather is knocking on that door too, so Stevenson would be coming in as the MUCH younger guy .....at 36 (lol)
But Hopkins has nothing to prove and he has no need to fight Kovalev or Stevenson. His record speaks for itself.
