Briggs ought to have been ejected.

A marginally-recognizable name is all he's got...as a contender from the late 1990s, over 15 years ago !

Briggs couldn't beat any Heavy in the Top 20 right now.
His body is an illusion. Naturally he'd be a big, strong guy, but the steroids have pumped him up and helped him get cut, but it ain't gonna help his lungs. His asthma is lifelong and chronic, that doesn't get better, it slowly gets worse. You couldn't get 3 good rds at a good clip out of Briggs anymore.

In Boxing though, and especially in the USA in general, a loud mouth can get you places even if you ain't got a prayer.

Leapai came in too heavy, it'll slow his speed and take away from his endurance. He'll be a slow, lumbering mass that Wladimir slowly picks apart. 9 rds. Hell, maybe just 7 before his corner throws in the towel and goes to cash in their check at the bank.

I can't understand how Briggs believes he's being avoided. The guy's fought twice since his lose to Vitali against nobodies whilst Wlad has a back log of mandatories!

Briggs is just utter crap right now.... I cant believe fans and regular watchers of boxing think this guy is americas best heavyweight, he's slow and hardlye throws any punches when up against someone who fights back, ibragimov and vitali both handled him very easily, he can throw his clothes around all he wants but once he gets in the ring with wladimir he is going back to his recent ways and barely punch or mount any offense of note :S.... amazing that people still fall for these guys who shout and throw things around....

His antics are pretty amusing just now though..

He is just an old man who needs money, I doubt even he believes he could win a fight with Wlad. Since he has virtually no chance of making a fraction of the money against anyone who wouldn't also beat him up, it's pretty easy to see where he is coming from. If he still has any kind of name, and people in Germany are taking notice of his antics, that probably does make him as likely a candidate to fight Wlad as anyone else.

I totally agree. Who cares if he deserves a fight or not. A man's got to what he has to do to make money and I actually respect him for getting his hustle on. He is old and broke so what else is he supposed to do?

I respect any man who goes above and beyond to get what he wants.

Shit I'd rather watch briggs tomorrow over that samoan bum leapai.

Cant believe this kind of thing is so shocking or unreasonable to people lol. I'd be doing the same thing in this weak ass division. Haye and Chisora made a living off the same antics. Dude lost a hundred pounds and looks pretty good. In addition if Wlad plans on beating the Journeyman Louis's record buy fighting another 10 years then he's going to need opponents.
