Roy was right in demanding the bigger purse, and if that fight happened at that time Roy would have ate him up. Roy was really peaking at that time and was at 175 for several years.
Bhop was hoping to get Roy to drain himself and come in flat. Was never gonna happen.
Roy gets shit from idiots with no knowledge of the situation, who say he ducked this guy, that guy, blah blah blah.
Here's the bottom line: Roy was the #1 fighter in the world. The UNDISPUTED p4p, the king of boxing in a time where they had a lot of superstars and great fighters in boxing. These guys that Roy supposedly ducked - Hopkins, Eubank, Benn, Tiger, whoever - it was up to these guys to get the fight with Roy. You don't make demands of the #1. You don't demand he comes over to your country, or comes down to your weight class, or splits 50/50. That's nonsense.
These guys didn't want the fight that bad, because they knew Roy was next to impossible to beat and he'd probably make you look like shit in the process.
