I think Floyd's next move will answer the question as to why he struggled in that last fight. If he knew that he did his best and that old age may have caught up with him, then he will definitely retire (again). He will not risk that '0' by putting himself in the same predicament or worse. If Floyd thinks he just had a bad night or he just underestimated the opponent, then we'll have another Floyd fight in our hands.
