You don't always get criticised for it. I may disagree but a lot of people obviously share your opinion. I don't think Matchroom quite have a monopoly but you are right in that they control the Lions share of British boxing talent. They often put on some really solid stacked domestic cards that are usually much better than similar offerings by Warren and Hennessey e.t.c but sometimes like many promoters there are mismatches and filler. Surely It is up to the other promotional outfits to up their game ?
Sky are as much to blame for shafting smaller outfits like Hatton and Maloney but it is a business and Matchroom obviously bring in the numbers and make good financial returns for them.

The hype of this fight which has been going on forever is a joke. Sky is a walking advert for the event as it is on every where. The fight is good but not great.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Matchroom have a decent stable because they can lure the biggest UK fighters off against each. Do you really think Eddie Hearn won't promote George Groves if he wins? Will he keep both DeGale and Cleverley after he's cashed in on their rematch? Of course not. And Sky just act like Matchrooms the be all and end all of UK boxing. They've completly frozen out coverage of the Chisora - Fury fight because its on another tv station.

When DeGale signed for Matchroom last week he was mentioned by Sky Sports for the first time in months. Before if they mentioned him it was without praise because he was fighting on a different channel. Same goes for Cleverley. They've blasted Tyson Fury every time he's been mention since the Haye fight fell through because he critised them and Adam Smith.

What a load of nonsense.
Cleverly, DeGale, Frampton, Frankie Gavin, David Price etc have all appeared on Sky Sports Ringside in recent months even though they were fighting on BoxNation or Channel 5.
Do BoxNation promote the Matchroom bills on Sky? They are a dedicated boxing channel so surely they have ample hours every week to plug all the bills that are not on their channel? As if.
Fury-Chisora haven't even sold half the tickets in the MEN arena. The general public don't give a shit about it. Ricky Burns and Kell Brook do better numbers than those two.
