Yep just watched it today, not a great fight by any means but quite an impressive performance, Khan looked as good as he ever has perhaps. Collazo either had a lower opinion of Khan's punch resistance than I had, or else he simply had no plan B and got frustrated getting beat to the punch so handily. All that "stalking" Khan with his hands down when he'd already been dropped, hurt, and lost every round was fairly ridiculous for a skilled boxer to be doing I thought, but perhaps Khan was just so much faster he couldn't think of anything else. There was a lot of holding, but Collazo had sort of already lost the plot by the time he was complaining about it. If you want to wade in with your hands down without actually looking to work on the inside, what the hell do you expect a rangy boxer to do but tie up.
Yes Khan looked brilliant.
Collazo did exactly what he said he wouldn't do: think he was a puncher.
Stalked him like Randall Bailey but with less than half the punching power.
Khan had to look good the way Collazo fought.
We should all realize now why Collazo never quit gets over the
hump to the big time, he has this built in self destruct circuit. Didn't Haymon just pick him up? That won't last long! Another performance like that and he'll be gone. I'm not saying another word about Collazo.
Khan looked great, fast hands, good combos, excellent positioning, and fast feet. He held when I don't think he needed to, but overall he looked very good.
What fucking fights where you all watching?! Khan held like a bitch the entire fight...and that disgrace of a referee let him get away with it. Collazo had his hands down cause he was beyond frustrated Khan was allowed to hold so much. With all that being said...Khan still had that deer in headlights look in certain moments of the fight.
Was it that good? He dropped Collazo. Should he have stopped him, if he was that dominate?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Khan looked great. Collazo was coming off of his best victory and Khan took him to school. Paulie was accurate in his announcing. He described how the toughest part about fighting Khan is closing the distance. When Khan is in close, he holds, in many ways he is like Wladimir Klitschko, a great athlete from the outside who doesn't have much of an inside game. I still would like to see Khan against another top welterweight before Floyd.
I thought it was a case of Collazo being bad rather than Khan looking good. On the rare occasions Collazo landed anthing decent Khan got on his bike and did his normal backpedalling/clinching thing. He spent most of the fight going backwards and looking to counter and he clinched every time he could. Khan would get blasted out by somebody like Porter or Thurman
