To be fair in that statement Lennox is saying Canada made him a boxer.

Maybe he's genuinely curious about great British heavyweights and already knows about Lennox.(even if it did seem he was poking the bear, tongue in cheek perhaps?)

I know I was looking forward to some in depth answers.

Well if I had to pick from this list I would pick Henry Cooper who fought in a very tough era.

Lennox was born in England. England is part of Great Britain. Lennox left Great Britain at 12 by which time he was irrevocably British. He then himself returned to Britain as an Adult and fought as a Brit from Britain. He has repeatedly claimed to be proud of his Great British heritage and England the place where he was born. He is British.

Queen was very British, no? I thought that Freddie Mercury was very British.

Bob Fitzsimmons. Highly questionable that he was a heavyweight, but did win the lineal undisputed heavyweight title (only other British boxer that can say that is Lennox). Clearly the best fighter on the list pound for pound. In my view, top 5 middleweight and top 5 light-heavy. Not anywhere near top-anything at heavyweight. Lennox is the real answer, but he was not on the list. If I were inclined to do the write-in thing, then Lennox clearly.

    Nice try though.
When you learn to box in another country and go as far as representing that country in the olympics, I think that DQs you!

Lennox's genetics are from Jamaica and he grew up and learned to box in Canada... just because he talks with an accent and likes football doesn't mean the British can claim him.
    Are you Canadian??
    Yes of course

Yeah he was borne and lived in England as a kid but his formative years were spent in Canada, where he also learned to box. And the genetics that made him a huge brute of a man came from Jamaica. So I don't really see what England had to do with making Lennox the boxer.

Lennox Lewis: I have always been English, ever since I emigrated from England and since the kids in Canada beat me up at the age of twelve for having an East London Cockney accent. I thank them for the cockney taunts because the beatings turned me on to boxing.
Who cares what Lennox says. You can't change what you are, and that's a dude who learned to box in Canada and represented Canada in the olympics.

You have to give Bruno credit though, he was making Lennox look easy and beating the stuffing out of him. If he didn't get impatient/over agressive and get caught with that Hail Mary he would have stopped Lennox shortly. I was terrified because I had what was a significant amount of money to me at the time on Lennox. Thank goodness Bruno short circuited.
