Secondly, that this is a mismatch I really don't understand at all.

Yes Sam Peter is about as skillful as Mayorga and Toney is as good as De La Hoya, but physically Peter is far better equipped than for example Mayorga was against Oscar.

Peter packs a huge punch and can KO heavyweights with one punch, Toney has an iron chin BUT he's not a real heavyweight so you would have to assume that if he gets hit flush he could go.

Toney's age is also against him, 38 years old! Peter is what, all of 26 or something.

Peter may be rough around the edges but he has only one defeat, to the guy who is unquestionably the divisions best AND he decked him 3 times!

This is not going to be an easy fight for James Toney, and I don't really agree with you saying that Peter can't take Toney to the ropes and win.

Yes Toney is a master at slipping punches but if he's trapped on the ropes with Peter reigning on him he'll be walking a tightrope and will have to slip every single punch else he's toast.

I'm really really excited by this fight, personally I think it's a crazy fight for either fighter to choose to participate in.

Peter, a crude brawler goes in with the most skilful and crafty heavyweight out there, whilst Toney, a short little fat man who should really weigh about 70 pounds less goes in with the biggest, baddest heavyweight currently in boxing.

For me it's a real pick em fight.

I'm leaning towards James Toney cos he's my favourite heavy but I'll be chewing my nails down to a stub whilst watching this one.
Superb posting, Bilbo

Toney could very well be over his head, gotta love/loathe him though. Im a fan and hope he manages a tough decision....
