USA are more than just an athletic team they have good solid talent but they will do well not to be bottom of that group. Honestly, England would struggle in that group.

Everyone would struggle, it's the group of death.

I think France will have a solid run out, Belgium will probably shit the bed, Germany or Portugal is going to have a good run, the Dutch as always will do something...I wonder how England will do as well

England need to be realistic and think about EURO 2016. This world cup is an opportunity to give some youngsters big tournament experience and build for the future. The heat will favour a solid passing side who will not blow their gasket in the first half. Brazil can not be overlooked at home and Spain will be the favourites from Europe. As long as its not Germany,France or Argentina. It will almost definitely therefore be Germany,France or Argentina

Hosted in a climate which is not suitable for good football.
Will be shown late at night which is great for advertisers but not spectators.
England team that has been picked is shockingly bad

Surely this is the tournament for Brazil, and maybe the one where Neymar really shows that he deserves to be counted among the best in the world.

I'd also like to see Mexico do well, they always seem to get forgotten, but are a decent side, although they did have a few hiccups in qualifying.

For the first time since 1982 I have sod all expectation from England – maybe it’s for the best.

Can’t argue with his squad selection mind - then again there was probably little alternative to the 23 he picked given the lack of the premier league’s home grown talent. I hope the new propositions the FA had for the English league come into force, that will help our national team a lot.

Can’t see anyone beyond Brazil and Argentina winning – the climate will suit them

Manchester City will block Yaya Toure from moving over birthday snub
Toure's agent Dimitry Seluk claims the player is 50-50 on staying at City
Toure was presented with two cakes and received over 250,000 Facebook likes after club wished him happy birthday
Seluk drew comparisons with Roberto Carlos being gifted a Bugatti Veyron on his birthday by Anzhi Makhachkala
City owners' 100kg cake on winning the Premier League also annoyed
Ivory Coast midfielder is also said to be tempted by a return to Barcelona
