Malignaggi and Bernstein

Mauro Ranallo is my favorite, I like the guy and I don't understand why a lot of fans don't.

Because he's cheesy, his voice is annoying and he adds NOTHING to any broadcast.

MMA fans have had the misfortune of listening to him for around 10 years when he started with Pride FC.

I like him, he's concise, insightful, calls a fight better than anyone, and I like the way he gets into the fights, just like a regular fan.

To each their own I guess. I'm not so much a fan of his style.

But yeah, I agree with the OP that Malignaggi and Bernstein are top quality.

When you get a boxer who can actually can actually articulate his insight, it adds so much to the broadcast.

Yes he is and maybe it is for nostalgic reasons but he is so level headed. He does channel 5 boxing over here and did an interview on BT sports with clare balding which also had Haye and Couch. Freedom put a video of him on his heavyweight thread.

Malignaggi is much better than say Roy Jones and is pretty good, but I have to say Sugar Ray Leonard was the best boxer turned commentator that I've listened.

Yes, I remember Leonard. Bobby Czyz was pretty good too.
When I heard Paulie was going to be on the broadcast team, I expected everything except what happened, the guy has a real gift. Effortless delivery with a boxers knowledge of what's happening inside the ring.
The way Paulie does a running critique on what the fighters are doing right and wrong, I wonder if he has ever thought of training? Probably not, he has his retirement job nailed down now.
