Floyd's legacy is sealed- even if he doesn't fight Pac. But, not fighting Pac put him out of the top 5 best EVER in the world conversation. He is in the top 20 best ever discussion, for sure. Which is nothing to snicker about.

I rate SRL, Chavez Jr., Ali, Roy Jones and Ray Robinson ahead of him on any day....

An argument can be made for Hopkins, Tyson, Lennox, Louis, Hagler, Hearns being ahead of him too.

Agree an argument can be made for a lot of fighters because of his weak opposition. Id have Duran and Pep on that list too.

Dont get me wrong Floyd has fought some really good fights, some great fighters, but I dont think hes ever fought another all time great in his prime. IMO his best wins came over 10 years ago

    NEXT THREE FIGHTS:

    Andre Ward at 168

    BHOP at 175.

Then his retirement fight, Wlad Klitschko at HW.

If he wins all those fights, then maybe he can be an ATG.

Floyd's legacy is already sealed. Any boxing fan worth their salt knows he's an ATG.

But, if I had to choose three opponents, it would be:

    Lara (If he beats Canelo)
    Winner of Thurman-Porter
    Winner of Martinez-Cotto

If he wins the MW title, and becomes a six weight champion, that should silence his remaining doubters.

Of course he is. But Im talking about sealing his place in the top5 ever. I dont think he has done that yet and imo is at least 3 really good opponents away from that.

I don't think Floyd will ever be top 5. He just hasn't fought enough top opponents for that.

Nobody will ever be top 5. After 1990, the polls closed and all the top 10 spots were taken.

I am sure you meant Chavez Sr as opposed to Jr. Sorry for being a smart ass. Just had to comment as I was very confused for a moment.

All the fighters you chose all got beat in there prime

SRL was beaten by Duran, Hearns should have beaten SRL in their first match and he was unlucky to a get draw in their second match. To be honest I think SRL dines out to much on his victory against Hagler. I don't think you can ignore his embarssing defeats to Terry Norris and Camachoo either

Chavez, mayweather beats him all day, Flat footed, come straight forward Mexican ? 120-108 Mayweather

Tyson, again beaten in his prime and like RJJ ended his career with embarssing loses. Lennox Lewis, like Tyson destroyed in his prime by average fighters.

As for others I agree. Hagler, was a great fighter. Same with Louis.

Ray Robinson looks amazing on the videos on youtube, but like Louis before my time

I think Hearns would give FM the most problems

But I think FM beats pretty much everyone on your list, bar Robinson and Hearns

Unfortunatlely Foyd has never got in with the calibre of Hagler, Hearns or Duran so we really dont know how he would fair against them,
