I could liken it to Tennis. Particularly the current versions of both sports.

Two guys, mano-a-mano (of sorts). Out-thinking, out-manoeuvring, out-lasting each other... Making each shot count - being as clinical as possible. Big-hitters, Quick-witters. Conditioning is everything.

The contests tend to have the same narrative and the same subtext.
