The decision had been made at that point. The referee was asking some procedural questions. I assume he wanted to make damn sure Donaire was not going to lose by accidental head butt.
I don't know that it had. He needs to stick to a classroom if he is learning or needing his hand held on the fly like that. Not his first rodeo and def not the first that he looked uncertain and aloof in. The guy is horrible
