"Ugh? Paulie the fucking pro boxing champion.."

Watt was lightweight champion of the world after Duran and went 15 rounds with Alexis Arguello and Ken Buchanan, two fighters that you proably don't rate because they came from an era when according to you most opponents were bums. Paulie got the krap beaten out of him by Hatton (whilst having his hair cut) and Khan, and was one year old when Watt retired. I like Paulie but fucking Lampley and Mauro are terrible and it is quite laughable that however bad you think Watt's commentating is (and you are certainly not alone on that) that you are so outraged that the Host channel/Countries commentator should contradict the guest.

Come on beanz Jim Watt is a shocking commentator. Apart from his clear inability to score a fight, its like he doesnt watch boxing apart from when hes commentating meaning he knows fuck all about the guy the matchroom boxer is fighting. I cannot stand listening to him on sky. They need some young blood. Paul Smith would be decent I think.

I was rewatching the Bute Fight, 1 minute in the fighters are broken by the ref and both told off... Froch was clearing holding Bute and throws a few shots whilst doing so.

Watt: the referee is trying to stamp his authority early there, I couldn't see ANYTHING illegal.

Arguello was great, Buchanan is overrated/average.

Didn't know he was a boxer... I guess he got in at the right time after Duran left the division. Feasted on bums no doubt.

I just managed to watch the fight now and it was alright, but not as action packed as the first one. Groves was much more understated, but still out boxing Froch who was losing prior to the stoppage.

It was a good shot to put Groves down, but it was hardly KO of the the year or anything like that. Groves was once again the victim of a referee, who this time out, decided to not even bother with a count despite Groves jumping to his feet in a couple of seconds. If he had counted to 3 Groves would have been up, and for sure wobbly, but would have continued, taken his 8 count and just maybe seen out the round to recover and catch his breath. He was denied this opportunity in a fight he was again winning.

Fair play to Froch who did what he had to do, but I still think there are question marks as Groves has won far more rounds than Froch in this rivalry. Froch deserves a final big pay day and Groves should come back stronger as he is very skilled.

Wow I thought for sure nobody would possibly protest the stoppage.

I think the fact that Groves spent the next few minutes after the stoppage sitting on a stool until he could get up shows that he was done.

Props to Groves for trying to get up after that shot but the referee would have been banned if he let that go on.

I think it looked bad on initial viewing, but the way Groves got up so quickly, he was showing heart. At least count him out instead of wrestling him to the canvas. It was premature. Just pressing him down and no count, isn't exactly saving him. Let the professional fighter have a few seconds and then appraise the situation and especially if the man is winning as he was.

    Victim of the ref?!

Miles, did you want to see Groves getting seriously hurt or are you disappointed because you think Froch isn't articulate enough to meet some arbitrary standard of yours?

Buchanan was the best Scottish fighter ever. He was a very good fighter and earned the respect US by fighting regularly over there. He was also punched in the balls by Duran.

Bang on. Buchanon was pretty much robbed against Duran. Duran was allowed to foul him all night and was knocked down after the bell with one of the worst low blows ever. The ref wouldnt let him continue. Apart from that he lost a close fight in Japan and a close fight in Spain. Other losses came late in career when past it. Known to be willing to fight anyone anywhere he is definitely an all time great.
