Victim of the ref?!
Miles, did you want to see Groves getting seriously hurt or are you disappointed because you think Froch isn't articulate enough to meet some arbitrary standard of yours?

Groves seemed really lively after escaping getting pinned down. He could have got an 8 count, continued or waved it off....regardless there would only have been 20 seconds left in the round.
Ive rewatched the stoppage about 20 times and still feel the same. Groves was winning, boxing well in those recent rounds and could have adjusted after a breather and got back to trying to box the final few rounds and take a decision. It was premature. Again.
George did not seem to think the stoppage premature. or his coach, or the doctor who gave him oxygen, or the thousands in attendance, or the viewers around the world. He was gone Miles. I can not find footage of the stoppage anywhere so fair play for having watched it 20 times. Are you sure you have not been re-watching footage of the first fight?![]()
Being a child of a free country, I can download things illegally with no hassles. I watched a very nice version on my HD TV and for sure Groves fell badly. But his response was brilliant he was up at a count of 5 if it had existed and 30 seconds to go. Groves knew he went down and if he was bitching the crowd would have gone off or just maybe, his mind was unclear about the situation too. But to me, it was still premature. Have a few counts to at least see if something will happen.
Greenbeanz, the government is your enemy. The Internet is your friend. There are ways to view this KO in HD. The Pirate Bay by Proxy might be your friend.
I don't care how good your HD download was, you couldn't see things like how dilated Grove's pupils were better than the professional referee inches away from Groves' face...
Getting up quickly doesn't mean much... Adrenalin allowed me to fight 3/4 of a fighter with a partial shoulder dislocation. 2 hours later I could barely hold my phone to my ear.
Oh and bouncing up from a heavy knockdown is admirable... It is not however a 'brilliant response'...
Look what happened to Khan when he didn't take a knee for 8 against Prescott.
The man was up quickly and could well have seen out the round. At least Zab was allowed to show us the chicken dance. Groves meanwhile was hurt, but he was up. If Smoger was refeering that it would have continued and rightly so as the fans want to see an ending, and me personally, I like to see if a fighter can show something. Fighters seldom get seriously hurt from a few seconds more to show something and the ref can jump in when he sees nothing is left. You can't tell much by jumping on a fighter and trying to pin him down like it is wrestling. Let the man get up and appraise the situation with a count and then a few seconds more and jump in as soon as you see it's a lost cause. I'm not advocating manslaughter, but simply saying fights are stopped too quickly in the UK. At least allow a few seconds to consider things instead of stopping things at the first opportunity as they do. Marquez would have been jumped on in the first round by a referee had Pac/Marquez 1 been in the UK.
Stupid post. Fighters get seriously hurt from taking clean shots which usually happen when u are hurt and cant defend yourself properly. It looked like Groves was clean out and when he woke he tried to get up. No way should a fighter be allowed to continue if thats the case.
