I cannot believe it is only a few days away. I would never have known unless I randomly clicked on the newspaper. In truth, I don't really care. The entire thing is a massive parade, but like the Olympics and Paralympics, it means little to me as I get older. At least I can watch the World Cup safe in the knowledge that there is a grumpy old toad somewhere worrying about mass financial crime and derivatives fraud instead of enjoying sport.
