Incredible how a win over a completely shot fighter has people believing utter non sense. Roach and Cotto will not be fighting at 160 again...certainly not against a legitimate threat like GGG. They smartly picked the right guy at the right time for Cotto to win another belt. The fight that would make the most sense would be Canelo if he was to get past Lara. That fight would generate A LOT of money....so the reward would be worth the risk. Even if that fight was to be made...i am almost certain it would be at a catch weight.

Or Cotto force Floyd to fight him at MSG at middleweight.

Cotto can't force Mayweather to do anything. Floyd will force Cotto to do whatever he wants he if decides in another fight with him

How is Cotto going to force Mayweather to do anything?

Give it a rest man. Roach and Cotto will avoid GGG like the plague...regardless of what you might think of his resume.

The same way GG will avoid Andre Ward like the plague.

He told Ward's camp he was staying at 160 but was ready to fight Jr at 168.

You'd think a guy his age would be ready to take some risks and challenge himself.

Cotto will want the Mayweather fight next. Even if he loses to Mayweather the Alvarez fight is still a huge PPV attraction. They both lost to Mayweather but Cotto has massive PPVability due to his following and winning the lineal 160 belt, Alvarez is a huge Mexican star and it's Mexico against Puerto Rico. Huge payday for both guys so Cotto will want Floyd then Alvarez. Floyd will want another division to add to his CV.

Yes, Cotto is using Alvarez as his backup retirement fight in case he lost this one.
