I don’t get all the big deal people are making about Spain’s exit. Their era as the dominant force in world football has simply come to an end. It happens. And will happen again.

Time for a rebuild, simple as that. Six years dominance ? I’d take just one world cup for England in my lifetime !

They knew it couldn’t last forever, just like one day I won’t be the biggest deal on Saddoboxing – I accept that. It’s life

I think this millenium(which isnt that old really) only brazil in 2006 have escaped the group stages after being defending champs... france bombed in 2002(won in 9, brazil did ok 2006, 2010 the italians bomed out, couldn't even beat the kiwis(only undefeated team of world cup 2010 btw) and now the spainards in 2014 S:

every king has his reign.... then he dies .. :S

I've enjoyed this world cup so far, but for some reason I keep watching the plight of the flavelas type videos on youtube, it makes me sick to my stomach, yeah I still spend my day streaming the matches at work. I love to see teams punching above their weight, I'd like to see if Costa Rica can keep it going, a country that has a population barely higher than the metro area I live in.

Hard to believe that Uruguay is the smallest country of all in the World Cup though. Its about the size of Wales, yet has won several and is still producing amazing players year after year. The Colombia group with Japan, Ivory Coast and Greece has been the joker....terrible football in the Japan Greece game last night.
