Looking forward to all three matches, they should all be very competitive.

Lineker is wearing an Italkian top today, not helping. Neither is Balotelli.

Utterly crushing. Well played Costa Rica though.

To cheer myself up I just want to say that UK/England -

Most Formula One World Champions out of any nation in history.

Rugby team that has reached 2 of the last 3 world cup finals (and will win the next!).

Cricket team that until recently was number one in the world and won 4 of last 6 Ashes.

3rd in medals table in last Olympics, 4th in the one before that.

Last two Tour de France Winners from Britain.

    Current Men's Wimbledon champion.

Not to mention our rowers, track cyclists, sailors etc.

Britain = Jacks of all trades - masters of a fair few.

There we go, that's me banging the patriot drum.

Best of luck to Costa Rica and the USA going forward.
Also to Canada, although I think it's scandalous that not one of there games have been shown on TV yet!

It's gotta be rough for you guys, it's not like you shit the bed, things just didn't your way. Italy got by on luck, and Costa Rica punching well above their weight and then of course the Suarez show.

Costa Rica were excellent hope they do not beat us too bad.

Uraquay v Italy looks an exciting match now.

It's bad luck for England but by the next Euros they'll be ready to challenge I am sure (especially if Woy is gone)

Well I think we have shown more promise WITH the ball (87% pass completion vs Italy, 82% vs Uruguay) which is unheard of for our style of play, but we have looked more fragile at the back than in my lifetime. So maybe we sacrificed one for the other. But there is hope going forward. Roy is a good man, plays the media expertly, but to be true winners we need a winner as a manager.

I like the US team, hope they do well. Won the first game not playing well so I think they have a gear or two to go. As long as they have a go and play to potential I'm sure the US fans will accept that.

It can't be understated how key it is for Bradley to have a strong showing, he had a bad game against Ghana and the midfield got decimated. Hope he finds his legs for this match.

Not really surprised at going out early. I think Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain were big misses but ultimately we just weren't quite good enough Hopefully that's the end of Gerrard. There's the makings of a decent team in there with the likes of Ox, Sterling, Barkley.

Ah well. Gonna jump on the US bandwagon now and support this wonderful man

My girlfriend is French, so I will try to muster some enthusiasm for them.
On my 7th beer now, need a fair few more to blot the pain out.

Yes. I feel I have to support our sole representative at the World Cup, even if he did break 20 minutes into their first game.

I stayed at a B&B in Postwick earlier this year, the caretaker was from Sunderland, he said I should call him Dozy. Also he's out with injury.

Yeah he had a...erm...tough season. To be fair he started to look pretty good whenever he played during the last 2-3 months of the season. There's a good player in there somewhere. He's a nice guy too. Is he out for the tournament or just the Portugal game? It looked bad but last I read he was being "monitored".
