You know...I never understood why in Mexico carne asada is considered bbq when it is clearly grilled. That's one of my favorite mexican dishes...when it's done right.
I know what you mean.... I have a feeling somewhere in the 70's when Mexicans 1st started with that whole Chicano movement some 'gringo' must have asked a Chicano what are you doing this weekend and since he didnt wan't to say "Oh! I'm grilling seasoned meat on a grill" he just said "I'm having a BBQ" word got around that the 'gringos' didnt mind blending in the BBQ aspect of it with 'carne asada' so we said fwock it. Lets just call it a BBQ. Not sure if the story is true or not.


Anyway WackOff I can do a mean 'carne asada' but it all comes down to the quality of the meat and the way it was seasoned.
