I believe the Holyfield fight really opened people's eyes to George's true grit and legitimacy at the world class level.
His very close fight with Stewart probably damaged his reputation as Alex was a big big puncher against weaker opposition, but he was never a true top contender.
I like Alex Stewart a lot too. Seemed like a hell of a nice guy and his fight with Ezra Sellers I think it was, that fight is AWESOME.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
So it looks like he was extended the whole 12 rounds the other nightOn one hand hey, he proved stamina and got in work. On the other I've seen clips of this and he was going hell bent on the guy in the corner like a caveman or tough guy contestant and the guy went no where? Anyone manage to see the fight?
I did not see it, but he's opponent looked to be a top 20-30ish heavyweight? Former Latin America's champion or something?
Anyway ill youtube it n see these clips, but I agree that Briggs shoulda finished the guy.
But hey lesser guys also went the distance with Foreman in his comeback, mostly toward the end of it tho. Savarese, Grimsley, etc.
