Gamboa does a lot of things that look good until he gets caught up throwing those stupid fucking flurries. If he sat down and threw less but more meaningful punches and smothered instead of just standing there wailing away he probably wouldn't find himself on his ass so much. I don't know maybe that's just damage from the amateurs.

I agree, but he seems to just throw the gameplan out the window at the first sign of trouble, then he turns into a amateur. Blocks punches with his face and close eyes and swing. Just not a smart fighter

Gamboa won the first 4.75 rounds... then he got sloppy. He lacked discipline. If he had remained focused I think he could have beat Crawford.

If Gamboa's goal is simply to be an entertaining fighter...than i guess he accomplished that. If he wants to be a SUCCESSFUL fighter...he has a lot of work to do. His defense is porous...fighting with his hands down and chin up will continue to get his ass on the canvas. Clearly this was not a great weight for him either. And even though his lack of activity isn't completely his fault...you can not be inactive for long stretches and go up against top notch competition.

Still impressed with Gamboa making back to his feet after that last shot
