I'm torn on how to view Haymon's takeover of boxing. On the one hand, he's good for boxers and there are too many great boxers that we seen suffer greatly later in life, not just from the physical effects of boxing but destitute and without any resources to keep them afloat. Haymon got guys like Andre Berto and Adrian Broner more money than arguably their talent warranted. On the other hand, how many of his fighters are paid handsomely without having to face any challenges or languish without fighting anyone of note. Look at Garcia and Quillin now. How many fights are we missing because Haymon is the advisor?
From a selfish perspective, I want the best fights, but from a perspective of what's best for the boxers, I want the boxers to be best off. It's a somewhat tough call.
