A shout out to the ref Mitch Halpern. Truly one of the greats. Sadly he would take his own life 3 years later at age 33.

Man, I realllllly miss Johnny RIP. You just do not see that type of passion, ferocity and raw emotion from top guys today. Not to mention a killer hook to the body. That was a superfight brewing for years. Tapia was obsessed and in a zone and had it been held in hometown Albuquerque, the place might have literally exploded! Great shot in the arm fight for the sport, solid pros both all scars aside. That was a tough card to watch with Carbajal coming to a hard bloody end with buzzsaw Baby Jake, RIP. Tough viewing that one . Thanks for the flashbacks here bud
