Roy Jones beat him when he was old too.

Someone needs to sit Lacy down and speak truth. Now it looks like is claiming his opponent was 'switched' I had to look back at his wars with Tsypko and Mendoza after Calzaghe. He was absolutely in life & death and out on his feet in both at some point, had him losing Mendoza 94-96. He was Jermain Taylors bounce back fight ffs and was dominated. That right there should have been the end but then came Roy and his big dumb "Captain Hook" outfit and Jeff needed to pay the rent.

Roy really humiliated Lacy and was the first to stop him.

Then Roy was humiliated and stopped, albeit prematurely by Danny Green.

Then we should have seen a Green/Lacy match up.

He did. Looked quite ridiculous like Rick James and Rue Paul ran into one another and exploded.

Just got to see the fight...ugly.

Jeff Lacy had a good career, he wasn't as great as we hoped he would be but he wasn't a horrible fighter. He did as best he could in a division which was at the time devoid of talent bar Joe Calzaghe and really how the hell could he have prepared for that fight? Jeff got injured and of course after the Calzaghe fight he wasn't the same guy. He had a few decent paydays vs guys like RJJ and Jermain Taylor but he was never a contender again.

And let this be a lesson YET AGAIN....he tore his rotator cuff vs Tsypko and fought through the injury and he never had the power he started his career off with after that. And that right there is why I just can't be mad at a fighter stopping a fight due to a torn rotator cuff no matter when it happens during the fight...you've got to think about what's good for your CAREER and not just the fight you're having at the moment sometimes

Far from the guy who slaughtered Robin Reid. So sad, but what goes around comes around in this business unless you get out with your money and marbles.

You can tell by the Sheika fight that Jeff wasn't all that.

He came late to boxing and it showed...same with Jermain Taylor.

Everyone see why Nick Diaz wanted to try his luck with Lacy?

I'd pay to see Diaz try Miranda. That fucker still has some piss and vinegar in him.

Just too bad Edison won't get his lazy ass down to 175 where he could at least compete and be a gatekeeper with his power.

Good comparison. Also David Reid to a lesser extent.

Not on a boxing forum, for sure! It really sucks, you name forever linked to an ass kicking you took. It's happened plenty and to good fighters.

    Manny against Marquez.
    Moorer against Foreman.
    Foreman against Ali.

Would be a great thread, erics44! Everyone would have something to contribute.
