Takam is a tough guy, don't sell him short.

Wilder needs a durable opponent who will take him the distance if only there were a McCall or Mercer in this era.

He just needs a guy coming to win who isn't expected to fall or has not just done so. I wouldn't fancy him vs a young inspired Mercer or McCall, more so McCall

Wilder vs. a young McCall might resemble McCall vs. Bruce Seldon.

Seldon built up an early lead, only to fall apart at the seams later on and be stopped.

McCall was like Ivan Drago. He must break you. lol
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

I think that's a fair comparison. For all Wilder has displayed in apparent one punch power, Seldon showed early on top hand speed, a piston jab and just better coordination and athleticism if you ask me. He also displayed tearing back from adversity in Ribalta ko and a willingness to face decent contenders. The chin after enough tests?...that's another story You just don't know until you are asked the questions

On a sidenote, can we merge both "they might steal" threads for tonights card?

There is only one man we can even put close to those two names and that's Tony Thompson. But you won't find an American HW that goes the full distance today... you would have to go to Europe.

Notice Wilder has not fought a legitimate European contender, ever? Yea, he fought Serghei- but Serghei was already entrenched in the American system.

I'm starting to believe they are protecting Wilder, too.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!
