There's not enough money in the Showtime budget in 2014 for Porter after Porter is paid for Brook for this fight.
At this point, do you honestly believe Ward-GGG is a competitive, close fight? I don't yet. I'd like to see if GGG's power translates at 168 first before I think he's got a shot at the best guy in the division above him, with that said, of course, I wouldn't pass up watching the fight.
I hope that fight happens. I think Porter takes it. Think his speed will get him a UD. Should be a great fight.
I don't know. I just want to see someone attempt greatness. When Ward entered the Super 6 he was a massive underdog and inexperienced, but he took a shot at greatness. People suggest smart business plans for GGG but they hardly ever suggest a shot at greatness. Unifying isn't that shot, titles are defined by who carries them. GGG could win all the belts and I wouldn't think any different of him than I do now. But fighting Ward, hell, he wouldn't even have to win to move up in my book.
i would love for this fight to happen. it makes perfect sense but i doubt it happens right now. they will both want to make bigger names for themselves so that down the road their fight will make a ton of money.
