    1988: Julian Jackson vs Buster Drayton, Atlantic City


    1989: Julian Jackson vs Terry Norris, Atlantic City



    1884: Jack Dempsey (The Nonpareil) KO 22 George Fulljames. Becomes the first recognized world middleweight champion. The first bout under the Marquis of Queensberry rules.

    1917: Harry Greb ND 10 Jack Dillon, Pittsburgh.

    1931: Frankie Genaro KO 6 Jackie Harmon, Waterbury, CT. Retains NBA flyweight title.

    1972: Enrique Pinder W 15 Rafael Herrera, Panama City. Wins world bantamweight title.

    1977: Carlos Monzon W 15 Rodrigo Valdez, Monte Carlo. Retains world middleweight title. Monzon dropped for the first time in 13 years and Valdez gets close to taking it.

    Julian Jackson was a freakish power puncher. Drayton took the punches but I am sure it did not do him good. Terry made one mistake, like Herol Graham, and it was over.

    I was in Las vegas when Jackson fought Drayton and I bet on Drayton. I figured he had been in with better guys, Philly fighter and all that. Oops.

    Drayton put up a good fight considering the power puncher he was facing.
