I have seen the fight, analysed it and I truly believe James Toney won.Say what you want about him,but this guy is a fricking legend and incredibly skilled! I am becoming a big fan of his,and I thought he totally beat Peter. It was close, but if Peter is only landing bombs(1 or2)at the END of every round and james has been winning the opening 2 mins with crisp punching,of course James won.I wouldn't say it was a robbery but it was ridiculous that 2 judges had it what,116-111 or something,WHAT WERE THEY WATCHING!They should get fired because whomever you thought won,it was dam close.

Couldnt agree more....Toney was landing that jab at will. He outworked Peter IMO

Say what you like about Toney as a person but evenm the biggest hater should see he won that fight.. Peter was ridiculous with his rabbit shots and everything he could possibly do to abuse his natural size but Toney F****** weathered absolutely everthing, never went down, clearly won more rounds, and showed masterful boxing over 12 rounds... He should be awarded the WBC title shot as he or Peter would definetly(imo) whip Maskaev... But Toney deserves it more... I don't think he could beat Wlad Klitschko on his best night, but he would have a shot if Wlad were to be less than so, but anyways, I don't see anyone else who could actually beat Toney, he is a GREAT fightr and athlete, this just sucks. It is pitiifully similar to the Bhop taylor fight, as a great great fighter displayed what true boxing excellence is, only to be shafted against the flavour of the month.
    Good posting, P4P

CC back Miles bro,I just don't understand what the judges with wide margins for Peter were watching! I mean, did you see Peter's face?! He was busted up while Toney had not a mark!

Seems as if most people are saying that Toney won that fight period. But its only 11 to 8 on the poll

I thought it was a very very close fight. At the end I thought they were going to call it a draw or for JT. JT landed more punches but they just didnt seem to do much to Peter. When Peter landed ,which wasnt often, they seemed to effect JT much more. If this fight had been decided on punches landed then JT wins easy. I guess two of the judges liked the power shots better.

I have just finished watching the fight for a second time & feel Toney clearly won. Sure it was close & Peter had his moments stunning Toney on occassions but over all Toney control a lot of the fight with his jab, plus his defensive work had Peter baffled at times.

I think that is the best summary of the fight.

If you like quanity you like Toney
If you like Quality you like Peter

That seems to be a common point of argument when there is a decision is a fight where one fighter lands more shots, and the other harder shots.

I wont vote because there is no catagory for what I believe for the first time in a very long time boxing actually had a bout that could be declared a draw and it would be fairly so
