If Religion was a person I might pick it because you cant blame a God real or imagined for the acts done in its name.

If the Devil was a person I could also pick it real or imagined for creating a Godless society void of redemption and for planting all those fake bones and rocks to get all those dates older then 6 thousand years. That was quite a chess move and probably caused Stalin's purges.
