They figure that you have an advandage with more weight (which usually is offcourse) but for example:
I weight 79kg, so in category 75-80 and my opponent is 81kg (so in 80-85) Just 2kg difference, As long as i can stay on my feet i win.
I weight 81kg, she ways 83kg (so both in 80-85, and also just 2kg difference) the boxer with the most points wins.

I've seen it happen on the dutch championships. A friend of my gym weighted just 1 kg to heavy, she was with distance the better boxer and her opponent was almost crying (no joke!) but she lost the bout, and the crying opponent, who was lucky to make maybe a few points, got the win and the dutch championship. Here it's called a performance-match.

That's why i'm working my hardest to get to the 75 kg max, where the opponents are (in lady-heavyweight there is besides me just one other opponent (80-85kg)
