Why would he deliberately lose when he beat him the first time. Banks lost to the better fighter. He can train fighters afterwards, you only can fight for a limited time.
He would get Mitchell hurt the second fight then never attempt to finish him. It was bizarre.
These people forget that boxing is some times crooked... if you got paid more money to throw a fight, then why not do it?

Banks obviously tanked in the second Mitchell fight. It was obvious.
It was either fear or bribery in the rematch.

He may have been scared of Mitchell, but after having stopped him once already, I don't know why he would be scared the second time.

Looks like he is fighting Antonio Tarver Sept. 19

He def played along with Seth. I really thought it was because they were trying to line Mitchell up as poss Wlad opponent , but maybe I'm too skeptical

i believe that there are certain fighters who dont really deserve a thread made about them and jonathon banks is one of them. honestly, do we really care if he quits? is boxing going to be in worse shape? does he really bring anything to the table?

i might as well start a thread asking if carlos maussa has given up for good. nobody cares.

What incentive even was there for winning against Mitchell?

    Fighting his own fighter eventually?

As above, being sceptical, I wonder if its a ploy to create a name opponent for Wlad?

You are making conspiracy when there is none. If Banks wanted to make Seth a name he would never have lost to him in the first place and if he wanted to make Seth even bigger threat he would have lost himself by KO.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

    No I mean currently.

It could be a not very clever ploy to give an old name like Tarver a name win at heavy to make him relevant. Tarver can sell a fight with his gob.

    Its feasable
