I don't think anyone has forgotten; many just don't care.
It's part of a societal problem in many places around the world: sexism, male-privilege.
Tyson's violent past was already known in 1986, BEFORE he won his 1st World Title.
Everyone knew this was a 19 year old kid that had been arrested multiple times, had been in reform schools, and had mugged and beaten little old ladies when he was 13 and 14 years old.
At Tyson's peak in 1988, Larry Holmes was offered a pile of money to come out of retirement and challenge Tyson.
He was asked about the Mike Tyson phenomenon, and Larry knew about the sociopathic history and stated that Mike Tyson was no credit to boxing and would ultimately self-destruct, put himself in prison somehow.
Of course people got all p!$$ed off at Larry that time, shouting "jealousy"", because everyone was crazy about Tyson right then, Tyson was on the cover of loads of magazines, not just boxing magazines neither, and was in the news regularly for his Boxing accomplishments, and on tv shows and had endorsement deals.
Larry knew Tyson's dark past and wasn't giving him a by like all the millions and millions of fans did and continue to do.
Tyson on beating up 7 hookers:
Mike Tyson's 'lowest point' was drunkenly beating up 7 hookers while high on cocaine | Mail Online
Damn, a morphine drip to top it off, nice
Tyson was found guilty in a court of law and served his sentence.
I think the worst offence Tyson did in boxing was the ear biting.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Tyson has/had a dark side, he admits it, but everybody wants to give the man a pass on everything. Fuck that noise!
Even a whore has the right to say no! Giving that nooky up is one thing, taking that nooky is an entirely different thing and all she or he has to say is no, one time! If a women comes to your apartment with the possibility of sex on her mind, but changes her mind, does that mean you can go ahead and take it anyway?
Oh yeah, even men have the right to say no, there have been a few women convicted of raping men.
Look, I'm glad Tyson is doing well, but I'm not going to wipe the slate clean. I don't even think that's what he wants,
Yes you can give people a second chance, but rape is a nasty crime yes she went to his room,
but if she said no, and he still fucked her well that's rape.
There are a lot of dark sides to Tyson, he is what he is,!!! a great fighter YES but a great human
being no sorry, admire the fighter but the man judge for yourself.
