Default Bute to be trained by Roach

Just got out in the medias today, Bute will be trained by Roach and should fight in december. The rest of his team is yet to be named. IF Roach can get Bute's confidence back (which got blown away when he was mangled by Froch), I think that he has a couple more good fights remaining in him. Not saying he'll be the next big thing like all the hope that many did put in him (me included, I admit) but I definitely think he can come back much better like almost every fighters that got into Roach's hands.

Why has Bute not been fighting and being active. His confidence looks shot to pieces and he could be finished at the top level. Where did it all go wrong?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Unless Roach teaches him how to take a better punch I don't see much success for Bute

Fits the profile alright....fast hands, decent power, dodgy chin he's a Freddy Roach fighter. Might help him get back to world class level again.

Depending on who he fights next he'll recover well

Agreed. Change did wonders for another soft chinned gentleman along with learning how to clinch. Bute could also use a little help in that regard. Being a big Bute fan, I'd love to be able to say with certainty that this will help him but I have a feeling he's mentally shot. I think he's gun shy to the point of no return but will remain hopeful.

Yea it makes good sense for Bute with his tools, but I agree he seems so timid since Froch smashed him. The Pascal fight was SO winnable for him I feel, but he threw even less and let almost every round come down to the last 30 seconds. If he couldn't show a little more fire against a guy fighting like that, I'm not going to hold out hope honestly.

he actually takes the punches pretty well but just doesn't react well under pressure and when off his gameplan.

A fighter of his style but broken mentally isn't a good fighter. he is more happy to be a star now than boxing, He ain't hungry anymore... I think Larouche told him he needed to stop boxing and that's what he should've done.

Bute's problem has according to me been the fact that he only listens to himself. He does not adapt because everyone he fought with the exception of one or two opponents were beatable. He always holds his hands low and as of late has a superior attitude that he doesn't feel like he has to move his head and as time went by someone had to get him and it was Carl Froch. In order for Roach to train him, he has top have his complete attention and cooperation.

Hes technically sound.Confidence is a funny thing with fighters. Some guys just respond positively to having a solid trainer in tow. I think this is a good match. We'll see how much it does for him. If follows instructions and revamps and becomes another cotto or if he does well till he gets swarmed and loses his confidence in his training and then blames roach, like Khan. There a lot of guys in the division who can simply outsmarted, they don't have to be out punched. The skills are there and there are wins for the taking. sounds like theres potential there to me..
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I agree but there is that discipline and I take nothing away from Froch. Bute could have been in better shape. When you fight someone like Froch it is three minutes of every round, movement and jabs. Of course keeping one's hands up high.
