Nice, and they can make a Muhammad Ali one right beside it that has him holding up 2-1 on his fingers with a big grin.

The Artist has captured him brilliantly. I love Joe and Don't mind admitting that had me choked. Can not wait until they cast it. Fitting tribute to a giant of a man who kept his dignity while those around him gave it up.

I think when Joe was alive he thought he was a forgotten champion, and didn't get his dues,
this should of happened a long time ago.
That is awesome work, props to the artist. Agree that it would have been a better touch to do it years ago while Frazier was alive. Still, much better late than never, they should put him right across from the Balboa statue, just glaring at it![]()
I read an article about Joe. His family said he never got over his obbsesion with Ali. Anytime Joe would see Ali struggle through a. Interview on tv Joe would get excited and say, I did that to that did of a son of a bitch. This went on for years but Ali was brutal Joe. That purple gorilla thing and what not. You can't Blame Joe for being pissed but to see Ali's medical issues bring you happiness a a bit over the top. Of course Joe to took a two many to the head . so I think he was m I saying a few cards. Crazy rivalry aside the man was certainly one of the best athletes to walk the planet so it's great to see him get some recognition
.
Shame MaxPower isn't around anymore hmm? :P
I can understand why Frazier would hold that kind of a grudge though, Ali called him an "Uncle Tom" essentially just for not being a clown, or flamboyantly anti white, and that probably did shape the way people viewed his character as a champion. As if Frazier had it easier than Ali in any way shape or form coming up, that must have really stung.

The one that bothered him, I've read, was when they asked Frazier if he thought he hurt Ali in the last round of the first fight. He maintained- and it is probably true- that he hurt Ali in every round they ever fought. Ali hid it well and didn't let little things get him down- I really dislike Ali but I respect the hell out of that aspect of his character in the ring.

A lot of times the statue looks nothing like the person it was intended to honour but this one is very good. Joe was a great champion and is up there with one of the longest reigns which I did not realise until recently.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
