At the time of the knockout Bejines led: Judge Jose Mayorga 107-102, Judge Dimas Hernandez 106-104, and Judge Angel L. Guzman 105-105. Bejines subsequently underwent 3 ½ hours of surgery to relieve pressure on his brain, during which doctors removed part of his frontal lobe and skull. On September 4, he was pronounced dead. Bejines was 20-years old.
1984: Harry Arroyo KO 8 Charlie Brown, Struthers, OH. Retains IBF Lightweight Title. Charlie’s nickname was “white lightening” I guess when your name is Charlie Brown you have to come up with something.

2007: Yutaka Niida W 12 Eriberto Gejon, Tokyo. Retains WBA Strawweight Title.
